WHAT IS A HURU CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK?

A HURU Criminal Record Check (CRC) is conducted to determine whether or not a person has a Criminal Record. i.e. they have been convicted of a crime in South Africa.

A person’s fingerprints are captured electronically and submitted to the SAPS Criminal Records Database to determine whether or not the person has a Criminal Record.

A Criminal Record Report is produced and will indicate the status of the persons Criminal Record.

WHAT CAN A HURU CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK BE USED FOR?

1. Pre/post-employment screening
2. E-Hailing (Uber, Bolt, or approved)
3. Gambling License
4. Liquor License
5. NCR (National Credit Regulator)
6. SACE (SA Educators, teachers)
7. SAIT (South African Institute of Tax Professionals)

A HURU CRC CANNOT be used for Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) applications, registration with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSiRA), or relevant visa applications for Visa Facilitation Services Global.

HURU CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK PROCESS

1. Take your Original ID (RSA ID Card or Book, RSA Drivers License, or Foreign Passport) to your closest participating PostNet store.
2. Let the PostNet store capture your information, photo and fingerprints.
3. Select the service type you require.
4. Pay in-store.
5. Receive your HURU Criminal Record Check via email or have it printed in-store.
